SPINNER 2013 Project
Project: Inibitori Corrosione II
Cooperation: CMR-Cooperativa Muratori Riuniti
Scholarship: Eng. Daniele Gelli
Aim:
The untimely failure of reinforced concrete structures is one of the most important causes which contributes to the consumption of non-renewable resource in the building sector.
The expenses which must be sustained for degraded work restoration (mainly infrastructures such as bridges, tunnels, harbours) may be five-fold the cost of the original work.
In reinforced concrete rebar is certainly the most vulnerable element, and therefore the limitation of its corrosion phenomena is of primary importance.
The present project is the carrying on of a research started in the Corrosion Study Centre “A. Daccò”, which aims to characterize a mixture of rebar corrosion inhibitors efficient in chloride polluted carbonated mortar.
Award:
By the project "Corrosion inhibitors" presented by Eng. Daniele Gelli at the 7th Edition of the Biennial Competition "Idea Impresa", organized by CNA of Ferrara, he won the 3rd prize.
